Let me say why i even searched in the first place.

I heard many "good" things about Race Related, i decided to let them do my clutch install, i talked to James, and he agreed i would drop the car off on a Weds morning and pick it up that afternoon around 6. I try calling the shop aroun 5 and get no answer so i head to the shop to get my car(about 30-35 miles from my house) I get there and see my car on the lift, exhasut is off, I walk up to him and ask if i could help get the exhaust back on the car. He kinda laughed and asked what did i meen? i reminded himi was to pick the car up around 6, so now i am there, the tranny hasnt even came out of the car yet and i need to be to work by 11. 10 rolls around and the car hits the floor...started the car and it refused to go into gear, so we adjust the cable, firewall adjuster some more with the same result, James is quick to tell me that RAM sent me some incompatible parts and he could have a machine shop remove some material from the flywheel to let the clutch disk release like its supposed to. I told him that all part #s were correct and everything fit perfect lying on the desk why wouldnt it work in the car? He ended up pulling the tranny the next day (again) and shimming the pivot ball. all in all other than being lied to about when it would be done and the pure and simple fact he didnt have the courtesy to call and say he hadnt started on the car as of 5pm...

I can't belive this guy is still in business. I had a friend about a year ago who had Race Related put a motor in his 95 Cobra. Well he said it would take like a month to complete. 6 months later my buddy finally got his car back. Then had to take it to Costal Dyno to have Sam fix everything that James screwed up on. All you Tampa guys, do yourself a favor and go to Costal Dyno if you want any performance stuff done. Sam does a good job over there.

Here is a up date on my friends 04 orange cobra. The piston rings were shot. They would build very little compression. Called James, He says that it happens sometimes when putting on mac headers. The oil in the headers somethimes will ruin the rings. What a line of crap. Remember everyone the car has 3,000 miles on it . The car was sent to James running perfect and leaves his shop with bad rings. He said that his shop insurance will take care of it but will not admit of his wrong doing. James is a complete crook!

I can't understand why he is able to be in the auto business after all the auto related crimes this A-HOLE has commited! This info should be posted all over every auto related web-site, definitely everyone in Florida should know about this guy and stay the hell away from him.If this info gets around to enough people I gurantee no one in there right mind would take anything to this HUGE-A-HOLE. I am Jimmy ONeal and I had James build me 3 motors and not one of them were to my expectations. After threatening legal action James did refund about half of the money I spent with him. If I had known about his past I wouldn't have even considered letting him touch my truck. BTW I never made 600hp with any of the three motors he built. I made 480 with the second one but it drank oil and had piston slap. I have since had JDM install one of their long blocks and have been happy. Just remember guys, there is a reason some of these builders are cheaper than others. You get what you pay for.
