This is a great time for families to bond. Seriously. Wife and I were walking on our town walking path (runs through the state) and it was great seeing a lot of families walking together, enjoying the weather and bonding. I didn't see any kids out of control. They were really having a good time with each other (siblings) and mom & dad. Be creative with time spent with your kids. And do things together. Outside or inside. Play board games. Help them with their online school work. My daughter took our youngest granddaughter outside in their backyard to study school stuff. They both enjoyed it. If you have boys, do a father/son project together, do a mother/daughter project, do a family project. Make dinner together and let the kids be involved with making it. Wouldn't hurt to have them help clean up. Please don't say with your kids this isn't impossible. Nothing is impossible. It does, though, require a desire to do it and a bit of creativity. Try to avoid letting the TV be their babysitter. So the upside to the difficult isolation we're facing is that it can be a time when we bond together as families. Don't miss this great opportunity. Your kids will greatly benefit from the time you spend together, and you'll benefit as well. Years from now your kids will remember it, not for how difficult everything was during the coronavirus isolation, but for how must they loved the quality time they spent with you and each other. Try it and let them know you are really IN IT. You just might be pleasantly surprised. ;)
