I found a few old post about it but nothing within the past few years. I am starting to order parts for the next iteration of my car and it is all focused on suspension. I stumbled upon the Kenny Brown IRS carrier in the link below along with their rear control arms. If you happen to have experience with them please let me know. I am hoping to gain some insight on if it is worth it or things to consider/do if I were to go that route. Thank you for your time.

Wow, nice stuff! I had no idea there was that much to improve, I am liking the double sheer on the coilovers. Pricy but nice stuff!

Sorry that I do not have any personal experience with Kenny Brown but will say why I've steered clear of his parts. I have an FTBR equipped IRS on my car BTW.

Kenny Brown had some seriously concerning quality control issues when he first rolled out suspension parts for the IRS. Bruce of FTBR had a rather large thread about his experience with Kenny's parts.

I remember two issues noted in Bruce's thread that killed the idea of ever running Kenny's parts. I'll admit my memory could be a little fuzzy on this and if someone can correct me please do.

1. The lower A arm bushings lugs were not square to each other. This forced Bruce to custom machine offset bushings to correct the issue.

2. The spindle attachment points on the upper A arms deformed/twisted after some use.

For me the blatant lack of QC and Kenny's response to the issues killed his parts for. The A arms bushing lugs being so far off were shocking to say the least.

I will admit though that I am considering buying his adjustable front sway bar but nothing else. I would go with MM but they pulled theirs shortly after release and told me via email they don't see it coming back.

If I can find Bruce's old thread on his issues with Kenny's parts I'll link it.

Just my .02.

Here is the thread I mentioned. Some of the pictures are gone but the important ones still load.

Honestly it's even worse then I remember.

I'd also like to point out that Bruce had a problem with his hard tail modded cradle moving around due to the design of the mount.

Judging from the link you provided it doesnt appear that Kenny has learned from any of his mistakes either.

For me unless Kenny has not only improved QC but also made some changes I can't see myself running his IRS parts.

you're linking a thread from 2006......i'm not sure that is relevant today. lot's of mustangs running KB chassis/suspension components

Plus pretty sure KB was going through Cancer at that time so his parts were the least of his worries. I have run KB parts since 2001 on different cars and they have been great. I won’t run FTBR stuff on my cars but that’s another story for another day.

When the design of his hard tail hasn't changed I think it's very relevant.

Ultimately it's up to the OP what he wants to do with his car and what information he wants to accept or ignore.

I don’t want to derail this thread but you're literally the only person I've come across to say they won't use FTBR parts.

+1 super curious if they ever fixed they're QA problem, if they did then I'd be interested in sending my irs unit off to be modded

Just took a closer look at the rear irs LCA that's listed on they're website, and then took a look at the old pictures that people posted. The old style had problems from what people said, but the one on the website looks like it was redesigned and they add extra bracing.

The upper control arms look to be another story tho, the old ones had a cross brace in the middle that is now removed on the new one. Don't know if they switched to stronger metal and better welds and just didnt think it was necessary. If they didn't then I can see that as a major problem.

As for the irs carrier, it looks like they added extra bracing to the hard mount locations, but there is a issue they didn't address. Biggest one is the rear hardmounts, FTBR stated in his post there were no upward facing bolts for Vertical pressure and they still have not added any brackets or extra bolt holes for that.
