Thinking about a polished KB 2.8LC. Looking for input from anyone with one or has some experience with KB, it would be much appreciated before pulling the trigger on a 6k kit. I do have the supporting mods, Fore Level 4 fuel system with dual Walbro 465’s, Kooks Lt’s, head cooling mod, ARP head studs.

I happen to like the KB set ups. In fact, with the bigger 4.5LC version my buddy made more hp on a Mustang than ive ever seen with a blower (1340 whp on a Mustang Dyno) but most tend to stick with VMP or Whipple.

KB keeps using external bypass valves instead of integrating them into the lower manifold tho which some say is kinda old technology but IDN I see a lot of Hellcat platforms using the KB making gobs of power! The 4x6 rotor pack is no joke! KB is a very small operation.

KB has been in business a very time for a good reason but the Whipple is far more popular. The KB is kind of a PITA to install tho. The VMP is the easiest install and the cheapest.

I think when u hear opinions on blowers it really comes down to this.......

Thanks for the input, I am looking for somewhere in the 600-650 RWHP range, this will be a sunny Sunny cruiser occasional car show type car, doubt it will ever see a drag strip, just a fun car with maybe the the odd highway pull. The VMP doesn’t offer a polished blower and the whippel has been under consideration but I do like the look of the KB better, there seems there are a lot more whipple cars out there than KB’s which is one reason for me to head ion the KB direction,

We have KB, Whipple, and VMP's around here. Seems to me the similar sized blowers perform close enough to each other that going with aesthics is the best way to decide.

Went with Whipple as most blowers are silver, black, or chrome.
I wanted different & KB doesn't offer that option..

I've had a KB kit on all 3 gt500s I've owned. I've never had any problems and love the way it looks under the hood. More power can be had with custom tunes and other add ons, but I live in CA, so I need to pass smog which I just did a few weeks ago with zero issues. With your LTs, you'll easily make 650+ if not more to the wheels on a conservative tune, but you won't pass smog with that set up if that's part of your goal. If you live in an area without worrying about CARB, then go for it. It's an easy kit to install yourself over the weekend, and the whine from a twin screw is intoxicating.

No smog here so I don’t have to sweat that part. Lovin’ the look of your engine bay! Much the same look I am looking for. Thanks for the update
