i'm also considering the blower upgrade this fall. can you buy the KB 2.2 without the chip or BAP?? i love the looks of the whipple, but want the scream. i'm also going to be running 15-18 psi at the most.

Yep, it shows how much to deduct if you don't want those on kb's website.

kb or whipple

They both would be a GREAT power increase over a eaton. But the KB beats it by inches its just raw hp #'s. But the KB DOESNT beat it in price. :lol: So decide you want ALMOST kb performance at a cheaper price, or you want KB performance!

Just so you guys have some info in regards to the comparison. This is from our blower dyno. Without a rear inlet, which will also effect SC performance. This test was done at 14,000rpm (compressor speed) 14.7lbs of boost/2.0psi

Lysholm 2300ax:
m3/min = 29.54
kw = 71.5
hp = 95.9
temp increase over ambient = 221f
cfm = 1043.21

Autorotor 2.4L:
m3/min = 30.57
kw = 72.8
hp = 97.6
temp increase over ambient = 234f
cfm = 1079.58

Whipple W140ax
m3/min = 30.83
kw = 69.2
hp = 92.8
temp increase over ambient = 201f
cfm = 1088.76

Thanks,
Dustin

no offense

tell eric brooks that, he runs 15psi on his 2.2 and makes 600whp STD

You give me a eaton car @ 15psi, and a KB car at 15psi, do the swap at the track same day, I will smack the eaton combo down with the quickness.

Exactly. I watched Ed@RWTD lay down 560rwhp SAE with a Whipple running 15-16psig. This was with dyno room temps at 100* F.

wait for the new 2.6 beta to come out

With the new Kenne Bell 2.8 a person here made an additional 30 RWHP compared to his previous Kenne Bell 2.2. With a 2.6 I would not be to impressed. This comparison was PSI-PSI, saw lower IAT tempts though. How good can the 2.6 BE?

2.4 KB hands down, it flows more, and is capable of makeing more whp at lower levels of boost because of that. Duhhh!

:) I want one!

Low end TQ Whipple all the way. 2.4 does make a little more HP. Not much over the 2.3. PSI-PSI there was a 10 RWHP difference.
If I recall correctly....

i ve look at this for a while and for 100 more hp 3,000-4,000 seems like a lot of money to pay. I was thinking of keeping the eaton at 15psi and adding a 100 shot= less money more power. i live in CA so i have 91 octane and thats it, the car is a daily driver, i would really like a 2.4kb or 2.3 whipple but it seems like a lot of money for the HP.

Someone should really update this thread or start a new one since kenne bell now has 4 choices for superchargers. I would REALLY be interested in seeing a comparison of the semi-new whipple W140ax compressor vs all the new kenne bell units..........:D
