Nah, NFL isnt going anywhere. Now, what Im about to say doesnt justify childish or stupid behavior. It is however the truth: The level of professional play that the NFL operates is head and shoulders higher than the capabilities and athleticism of the average male. There are college football standouts that simply cannot play at the pro level. We see it time and again with 1st and second round draft busts. My beloved Chicago Bears experienced this with our former 1st round pick Kevin White. Played 16 games as a pro for us over 3 or 4 seasons and was unceremoniously released. He was a 7th overall pick. He was cut the preseason from the Arizona Cardinals and by all accounts is finished in the league. So, with that in mind its fair to say that there are a very, VERY select few among us capable of playing at the NFL level. Even fewer are the players that are truly professional elite. When they think that they are getting underpaid by over performing their contract, thats where the holdout mentality comes from. I think its stupid personally. You signed a negotiated contract for your service. IF you feel you deserve more money for your talent, then save it for the next contract negotiation.
