Jan ‘05 DC 9 Thread 4v Cylinder Heads

Extremely rare badass cylinder heads!

These are the highly sought after “DC” casted cylinder heads. If you wanted a set on a Cobra, it would’ve been a retrofit only. Ford Racing offered these as a performance upgrade only to our cars, however, they were found on the 2005 Lincoln Aviators as well.

I've had these cylinder heads since the beginning of this year. I was going to put them on my car, but all they have been doing is sitting in my living room. They have been wrapped up in a climate controlled room and I haven't touched them since I picked them up from Ron @ Fox Lake.

When I finally found an excellent pair of Jan ‘05 DC Casting Aviator Cylinder Heads, I knew I wanted a reputable speed shop to do some major work to them. To go all out and build me some built proof, major cfm breathing, cam loping badass 4v heads (cleaning, machining, porting, etc.). Out of all of the speed shops around, I narrowed it down to either Livernois Motorsports or Fox Lake Racing. After comparing the two, researching and reading reviews, customer satisfactions with products etc., quotes on pricing (which they were very similar). I went with Fox Lake Racing.

These are an excellent pair of heads for anyone wanting a phenomenal upgrade. I’m still on the fence honestly about letting these go. It took me 6 months just to find a set that wasn’t trashed or that had FUBRA cam journals. These heads come assembled with Stage 3 Comp Cams, Ford GT Supercar Followers, Brand New OEM Lash Adjusters, ARP hardware, James’s billet secondary timing chain upgrade, FRPP secondary timing chains & sprockets, and are ready to go bolt on. These are basically brand new, still has assembly lube, never been installed.

Complete heads with the following...

Comp Cams Stage 3 cams.
Comp Cams XE-R Supercharged & Nitrous Cams | 2003-2004 Mustang Cobra

ARP Hardware.
ARP 4.6L/5.4L/5.8L Camshaft Bolt (M12)

Ford GT Supercar Performance Followers/Rollers (x32)
Ford GT Supercar Performance Followers / Rockers - Set of 16

4.6/5.4L OEM Lash Adjusters (x32)
4.6L / 5.4L 4V OEM Lash Adjusters

FRPP Secondary timing chains, sprockets & driver side tensioner upgrade.

Cobra Engineering Billet Secondary Tensioner (Passenger Side) - it is well known that the factory passenger side tensioner has flaws.
Cobra Engineering LLC

I’m also, including in this sale the following.
FRPP Timing Chain Kit. (Only makes sense since from the FRPP kit I bought, these heads are using the secondary chains & sprockets from it.)
Ford Performance Mustang Camshaft Drive Kit Aluminum Block Application (99-04) 4.6L 4V M-6004-A464

Trick Flow Adjustable Crank Sprocket. (Which in my opinion is the ONLY way to go when using adjustable gears to get the degrees spot on.)

Everything included in this sale is brand new & assembled together by Ron @ Fox Lake Racing. These heads will rev to 8500 RPM all day long and were built to handle well over 2k rwhp.

Asking price is $6000.

Here is an invoice of what it cost me just for the machine/port work & the badass upgrade to the Springs, Valves & Seats.

This invoice does not include the price of finding & buying the Factory Heads alone, or the... Stage 3 Comp Cams, Timing Components upgrade, ARP Hardware, All New 32 OEM Lash Adjusters, Ford GT Supercar Followers/Rockers... etc. I put the links to the items of the things that I bought so you can see the price of those items. These are close to an $8,000 pair of cylinder heads.

Sounds like nice heads. Would you sell the heads only? If so what would the price be?

Sorry guys, haven’t been on lately as much, but I’ll answer some questions asked here.

Selling complete.

That sounds wicked! what blower combo was that CO running and what power did it make?

Not sure of numbers or combo of that persons car. Someone who knows can chime in?

However, I think that at the time of that video, that car had a ported eaton and made a little less than 600rwhp.

I am interested in the heads. Please email me [email protected]. Thanks, Dave

Email sent.

This website should explain:
Terminator FAQs

Did these sell?

Currently for sale.

Good eye! That date stamp caught my eye also. Yeah these cylinder heads are not true Jan 05 heads. How do I know because I own a set of DC casting cylinder heads, that actually has October 05 stamped on them. OP/s cylinder heads are DC casting but not true Jan 05 heads.

I picked these heads up directly off of a 2005 Lincoln Aviator. Which from my understanding was the only vehicle that FoMoCo put these heads on from the factory for at some point. And no, not every 2005 Lincoln Aviator came with “DC” casted cylinder heads.

I’ve seen these exact casting numbers from plenty of sets of DC heads with dated circle stamps from late 2004, all the way to 2008. They weren’t just for the 2005 Lincoln Aviator... they were also offered to customers who wanted to warranty a pair for the Cobras, or for people who just straight up wanted to buy them. Guess what... if I wanted to by a set in 2005 separately, they’d most likely have a late 04’ tracking date stamp... and if I decided I wanted another set in 2007, they’d most likely have a 06’ tracking date stamp.

Do you want to know what the difference was between these particular factor bare cylinder heads that were manufactured from late 04, 06 or 08, etc.? Nothing but a date stamp for “tracking” purposes only. & that’s all the circle is.

Please explain where you are getting the information from for what indicates the authenticity of DC casted cylinder heads? What in the world does “true Jan 05 heads” mean?

Thanks.

Jan 05 heads should be stamped 05 not late 04 stamp... Think about it, why would ford title cylinder heads Jan 05 if they are produced in 04... They would call them just DC casting heads. And yes all DC casting cylinder heads are redesigned with batter coolant passages. But your Dc heads are manufactured in 04. So you can't Advertise them as Jan 05 obviously they were not manufactured in 2005 or later.... To my understanding any DC casting cylinder head manufactured after 2005 is considered Jan 05 head.

It’s clear you must have some misunderstanding regarding typical manufacturing processes, build dates, etc.

Your argument makes no sense. For instance, go find someone that has a 03’ Cobra with a vin # to prove it, but has a build date of August 2002... Then, proceed to tell them that they don’t have a “true 03 Cobra,” because the build date wasn’t in the year of “2003.” Let me know how that works out for you.

I’m done talking about this.
