Is the Mach 1000 audio system worth the money?

Just wondering if those of you that got the SN197 with the Mach 1000 audio system thought it was worth it?

Stock system is a 160 watt stereo with a single CD

Mach 500 $600 option on the deluxe model/standard on Premium model GT
8 speakers w/ door mounted subs 6-disc in-dash CD changer

Mach 1000 $1100 option on the Premium, $1700 on the Deluxe model
10 speakers w/ 2 subs in trunk 1000 watts :rockon:

Do you think it would have been money better spent if you got the base system and spent the same money but put in something different from a car audio store?

Get one from an Audio Store. The Shaker CD player is known to skip.

well personally i would only get it if u listen to music alot. and the only way i would piece a stereo system together myself is if i knew how to set it up to sound optimal(which many ppl do not) so if u listen to alot of music and want a awesome sounding stereo then yes id get the 1000

When I ordered my stang I got it with the 500 figuring it would be enough. Heard a 1000 setup the other day in stang compared to the 500 and wish I would have gotten it now. Definetly alot more bass and more clarity I think.

The mach 460 in our mach 1 is pretty damn good, although the clarity could be a little better when the base is all the way up.
