Figured I would see how others felt. Looking for honest opinions on if I should keep my GT or not please dont give me answers like sell it simply because it is not a whippled 4v.

I have a black 2001 Mustang GT, which in my opinion is tastefully modded.

I love this car and as of right now my plan is to keep it forever, to slowly build and restore it. Everybody always says they wish their old car so I figure why sell it? I am 22, just graduated college and this is my second vehicle (first mustang) and I Just picked up a 1997 Cherokee Sport to DD/winter beater.

Its also at about 111K so I figure resale value is pretty hurt.

75mm Throttlebody

My future plans as of now (long term)
-Vortech V2 with front mount air to air intercooler: Picked up a V2 kit for $200 so why not?
-Coilovers
-Repaint Ford Tuxedo Black Metallic
-Reupholster Seats
-engine rebuild?
-Cobra front bumper, skirts, and wing

What would you do? I think when complete down the road it will be an awesome car to hang on to but is it foolish to hold onto a 2v? I plan on getting a 03/04 or shelby down the line as well

Keep it man. I still have my 2000 Gt that I bought with the help I my parents back in December 2001 when I was 17! I'm 28 now and still own it and just recently put a bunch of money into it again. I don't see it going any where any time in the near future. I understand the attachment but I still joke around and say things like I should of bought a 2011-2012 GT500 with the money I put into this thing.

Yea investment wise it definetely is not the move to make. I just think it will be cool to always have my old mustang ready to fire up and take for a spin.

It's all about what you want.

I just sold my 2002 GT that I bought when I was 18 in order to get a Z06. Happy with my choice, but I do miss the car.

Keep it, I've literally had the same mindset about mine its approaching 100k, 89k actually and was thinking maybe its time to get into something else. But then I look at the market and there is no way I could ever take the low price people want to offer for a clean supercharged GT, so I'd rather just keep it. One day it will just sit in my garage and I'll stare at it. Every person I've ever talked to who used to have an old muscle car/race car wishes they still had it.

No good reason to get rid of it. Keep it, enjoy it. Cheap to insure and doesn't really affect you if it's paid off. That car will be cool as **** in 20 years!

Those comments are pretty in line with my thoughts. For the money I would get I have no reason to sell....

I am mostly done except for the blower with intercooler, and a cobra bumper. Paid 200 for a v2, bracket, 42lb injectors so I cant really see the rest adding up to much.

Down the line Il do a major restoration with new paint shaved bay etc.

Keep it man, that's an amazing car to have at such a young age. My black 02' GT has the Cobra body kit and Cobra leather interior, 2.1 KB and a Viper spec 6 speed manual, I love it!

The vortech I have now is a V2 s-trim that with a front air to air intercooler will do for a while.

Car recently went into body shop to have some minor imperfections fixed so has brand new paint on the front fenders and doors, fenders doors and quarters were buffed in the shop it looks great!

Heres how it sits getting towed home after the engine trouble, red stripes removed with 17" black bullitts. 18" drifts would not be included, would be sold at extra cost
