Hello Fellow New Edgers -
I recently installed a 2001 Mustang Cobra IRS into my 1999 Mustang GT, and I decided to write up an installation guide based upon what I learned from the process with the goal of helping fellow Mustang owners who want to do the same.
I hope some of you find this IRS Installation Guide helpful:
Declaration of Independence: Part V
The guide focuses on New Edge cars - but perhaps it could be useful to SN-95 as well with some small modifications.
I also wrote some other blog entries leading up to the install. They document what I did to refurbish the IRS prior to the install. (The unit was sitting on a barn floor for a long time before I came to possess it.)
I did some rust removal and installed new bushings since the existing MM bushings were completely shot and destroyed. I replaced with Full Tilt Boogie Racing's kit.

I'm not a master mechanic - and don't pretend to be - but at the same time, these serve as proof that even shadetree mechanics like me can do this install with a little perseverance and help from some friends.
