Only the fifth concept from Genesis, we’re hoping this new electric grand tourer translates directly into what we’ll get with upcoming models from the brand. It changes direction from what we’ve seen from Genesis recently, and is a low-slung coupe as opposed to a high-riding crossover.</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH=full]1696785[/ATTACH]</p><p></p><p>Details are scarce on the Genesis X Concept. The automaker has yet to release its range, number of motors, or battery size. Looking at the latest Kia and Hyundai EVs, however, there’s no excuse why this electric grand tourer wouldn’t have serious performance figures if it reached the production line. The Kia EV6 GT electric crossover’s high-performance variant throws 577 hp at the tires—that number would surely be higher in Genesis guise.</p><p></p><p>While we don’t know how far it can go on a charge or how quickly it can tackle a track, we can see that the design is striking. The Genesis design team pulled no punches with this box-flared, low-slung grand tourer. At the front, you can see the familiar diamond Genesis grille and a pair of incredible headlights. These two thin lamps pull all the way from the grille opening to back to the end of the front fender. The rear lighting follows the lead, with the same two-line styling.</p><p></p><p>If Genesis does give it the production green light, there’s a good chance the car will look almost as wild as the concept. Looking at how the company translated the GV80 Concept into a production-ready model should give those salivating for the Genesis X Concept some hope. Regardless, even if the company doesn’t pursue production, even as a design study this car telegraphs what we could see in future Genesis designs—and for that we’re excited.</p></blockquote><p></p>
