I ordered a set of BBK underdrive pulleys for my 96 cobra, and not having worked with pulleys before, I don't have a pulley puller. Does anyone know what size I need to get the harmonic balancer off? Also, it looks like cheap pullers on amazon are basically the same price as a rental. I'm sure a rental puller will be better quality, and I don't really think I will need the puller again, but would you suggest getting a cheapo one to have in the tool box or rent one?

Don't use a cheap puller. Using a 1/2" impact on the alternator pulley made it super easy for me.

yep, that or the same kit from harbor freight will work also. if you don't have a stubby impact to remove the crank bolt, you may need to use the "starter bump" method, just be supper careful.

I was planning to put it in gear and use a breaker bar. Will that not work?
