Cosmis is supposedly redesigning the wheel this summer and going to offer more offsets/BS at the end of 2022. I'm waiting to see if they offer something that may clear the calipers better.

Thanks for letting us know about this. I love some of their wheels and finding out the XT-005R wouldn't fit without massive spacers was disappointing.

I wish they offered that wheel in a 9.5in width though. I am looking to eventually run a square setup and I wonder if the XT-006R would clear. I can't find many pictures on mustangs with that wheel to get an idea though.

I'll wait for the new offsets and go from there. Thanks again for the heads up.

I asked them when the would release specs on the new offsets but no word on that just yet.

I only bought two 18x9 of the XT-005r before they were discontinued so I’m patriently waiting to buy 2 more hopefully in a offset that works better up front. I don’t mind going 18x9 square.

For those who need a spare tire. I picked up a Racestar Recluse wheel for $125 and plan to mount a 145/70/18 temp spare to it. This is an 18x5 wheel, so it will fit in the spare tire well.

Miles of clearance on brakes with it. I have a tow policy but wanted to carry a spare in case i need a good tire to roll onto a flatbed/trailer.

Here it is with my C6 calipers (that didn’t clear the 04 cobra 17” spare I had) but there is tons of clearance that it should work fine with the brembos

FYI this clears by miles. I went with a 145/70/18 tire, but a 135/70/18 might give you more clearance in the spare tire well. The 145 fits but it's snug

What master cylinder are the 94-98 Cobra guys running with this setup? My pedal feel leaves a lot to be desired on my 98 Cobra and I'm wanting to change to the 1 1/16" 99+ master cylinder. The problem is it seems that I have two M10 fittings on my 98 versus the M10 and M12 that the 1 1/16" master cylinders have. I have ABS for sure.

And if it helps anyone else these calipers do not clear Aodhan DS08's without a 10mm spacer lol

Looking at the spoke design of those wheels it's not a surprise they don't clear.

What specs are your wheels by chance?

Diameter
Width
Backspace
Offset

Asking because I am trying to figure out an 18x9.5 square setup other than the 00R setup that's not huge money.

I am running stock and haven't had much issue on my 98. Have been using it at the track for 4 weekends with good pads and fluid and it stops well and I have good feel.

I was going to run these on my 98, but I'm choosing to go a different route. I dont want to run a spacer to clear my wheels.
I have the calipers, bushing kit, and the spacers.
PM me is anyone needs it. I can provide pics etc.

The design is definitely the issue. I'm going to clearance the calipers and repaint them. I really like these wheels so want to keep them.

When you say track do you mean drag strip or road course? What pads and lines are you running? What did you use to bleed them?

The 99-04 MC will not bolt to the 96-98 hydroboost. The clocking is different.

What feels off about the pedal feel? Going to the 99+ MC would make the pedal slightly softer, but hydroboost tends to work more on line pressure and MC sizing doesn't have the same effect like it would with vac brakes.

Well shit. Good to know. Looks like I'll be returning that lol. The pedal has a ton of travel before it really bites compared to how it felt before. This is after adding braided brake lines up front as well. I am also running the Taurus calipers out back to try and even out the bias.

This sounds like air in the front calipers. Did you bleed them in the following order?

RR
LR
RF inner
RF outer
LF inner
LF outer

I concur. Sounds like air. With the smaller MC, your pedal should actually be on the firmer side of things.

The hydroboost MC's have two bleeders on the side of the master cylinder. Did you try bleeding those as well?

I have not done that. I will rebleed the system and if all else fails I'll look into doing the MC. That master cylinder came in today, I took one look and shipped it right back :(

For those that ordered the Taurus calipers; did you get the calipers that came with the bracket? And if so is the bracket the same as what's on the Cobra?

I ordered calipers without brackets. The Taurus calipers bolted right up to the cobras without any issues. Literally the caliper looks identical except says 43 on the top. Obviously the piston is different, but besides that they are identical.

The Cardone brand on Rockauto all have brackets. I was thinking if they're the same as the cobra brackets I could have them powder coated and swap everything at once.

I bought mine from RA. I didn’t want new brackets because my stockers were already PC’d. 97 Taurus, can buy them with or without brackets.

I PC’d the Taurus calipers, one leaked right alway, did a rebuild and new piston, fixed the leak. Not sure if it happened from PC or not. But all good now.
