Hey guys. Bunch of great info in here! I have everything I need to do this modification ordered, minus the rotors. Anyone have the best rotor to recommend? I see there’s a handful that were tested.

Supposedly the 12” GT 336mm rotors fit perfectly, and there’s no pad overhang.

I wouldn't say those are the best choice. He will need a thicker spacer AND still possibly machining of the mounting ears.

The pad overhang on the standard cobra rotors is very minimal and if it bothers anyone it can easily be sanded down.

@Termn804 I recommend the standard cobra rotor that lowranger designed his kit around. If you don't like the tiny amount of pad overhang just trim it.

I posted a few pages back, but the Baer T4 and 6P calipers also have minimal overhang. Once I saw that, I let the whole thing go in terms of worrying about the overhang.

I've seen a few guys on Bookface run the 13.2" S197 rotors and claim a 3mm spacer between the hub and rotor works. Problem was I could never find a 3MM spacer that would fit between the hub and rotor. I've got a whole wall full of spacers that didn't fit. I could never get anyone to actually elaborate on how they got it to work other than just saying "Yeah I put the rotors on with spacers and it was fine....."

I purchased some 3mm spacers off of Amazon a week or so ago and while they did come close to fitting I had to shave the inner circle about 1mm to make it a just a bit wider to fit around the hub.

I have ordered lowrangers kit and plan to use the shims and inserts that come with his kit. I’m not too concerned about minimal pad overhang as I believe the money being saved outweighs the issue. Does anyone know
what rotors @CobraLucci is using, and is it with the S&S kit? Thanks for the help guys. These will be used on a set of 18” whistler SK1s so I’ll be sure to let you know if it fits also.

Hey everyone, received everything in mail today and will begin tackling this modification in the next few days. Everything seems pretty straight forward. Looking forward to the upgrade!

Got inserts installed and temp installed to car... 18x9.5 with +22 offset is a no go.... tried to stack shim that comes with S&S kit, factory rotor, and 2nd S&S shim but still no go. Might need a 5mm spacer for outside of rotor. I have a set of power stop drilled and slotted rotors on way, maybe they will give me the clearance I need....

What is contacting what?

Why do you think a different rotor will solve your issue?

Also explaining everything using complete sentences would be hugely beneficial to both you and anyone else who might be able to help.

I apologize if I didn’t make complete sense with the above post. The kit from S&S turned out to be great and installed with ease. My issue with the modification is my Whistler wheels meet the front face of the ATS caliper when tightened down with my lug nuts. If I used a 3-4mm wheel spacer stacked on top of factory rotor, it will solve the issue. I’m hoping the rotor hat on the new disc might be a little thicker to push my wheel further out, but no telling until I receive it.

Please see attached photo, spokes are meeting front face with both lug nuts tightened down.

The rotor thickness won't vary much if at all from one company to another.

You most likely need a spacer to clear.

Wishful thinking I suppose.....going to try getting my hands on/fabricating a 1/8th inch spacer to run this set up. I should be receiving my new rotors soon from jegs. Appreciate the help
