Who's done it? Any tips and tricks? What did you use to cut the bumper cover?

I've seen an article or two about it online. They just replaced everything because it wasn't easily adaptable. I researched it for my '12 GT500 but I couldn't justify buying a new rear bumper cover and all of that jazz.

If you find something good please post it up!

    Good luck.

12/13 must be different.. it seems straight forward the bumper has all the markings of where to cut. I was just looking for advice from someone that's fine it.

This is on a 13-14 GT? Bill Tumas has a video showing how to do it and where to cut.

I don't know why I didn't come across that my self. It's as straight forward as I thought. It's just nice to see it done. I think I'm going to go the Dremel route to get it done as I don't have a body saw

Thanks for the tip. I believe there is some in the kit I borrowed. I'll practice cutting in the part thats being cut off so by the time I get to the slits I'll be a pro

Finally got around to putting mine on. I used the cutting but and found out if you angle it you can control it much easier. If you keep it straight up the bit likes to bounce around a bit. Only took a minute or two to cut off and then I cleaned it up with a sand paper wheel.

As for tips, when installing the rear bumper make sure you route the plug and grommet for marker lights through trunk. I only did the connector and had to fish it out from bumper since I had everything installed before I hooked up connector. Also when installing rear bumper cover make sure the side of the bumper are over the clips. Mine were under and I had to take the sides back off to get them to line up right.

Overall easy job I think it took me about 4 hrs. As for mufflers I went with oem gt500 and couldn't be happier with tone.

Looks good, is the plastic textured? I ask as I love the idea of this valance painted body color

It's not completely smooth it's very similar to the black bumper insert that goes under the reflectors and the license plate surround

    not at my post...
I used a dremel multitool then a sanding roll on a dewalt drill to smooth any burrs. As others have stated there is pattern inside the rear bumper cover|fascia...If you can color inside the lines, then you can knock this out with no trouble.

Used a sawzaw and it melted it away. Then just deburred the cut areas with a file. The pieces would come right off.
