Doing this mod will improve brake pedal feel as well as performance. It reduces the endplay between the shaft from the brake pedal and the piston in the master cylinder and therefore enables the brakes to be applied with less pedal travel. Care should be taken to ensure that too much adjustment is made which could result in the brakes dragging resultant from too little backlash between the plunger and master cylinder.

Here is the original thread started by FleeMan: http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=368915

Step one:

Remove the two retainer bolts on either side of the master cylinder on the brake booster.

Step two:

Slide the master cylinder forward enough to remove it from the studs and move it to the side.

Step three:

Use a 7mm wrench or ratchet turn the black adjuster fitting counter clock wise (making it longer) one full turn. *NOTE* I used a sharpie to mark the fitting so I'd know when it rotated all the way around.

Step four:

Reinstall the master cylinder while taking care to ensure that the splines on the plunger rod properly engage with the master cylinder to prevent damage/binding. It should slide all the way back on with little effort. Snug the two nuts down and depress the brake pedal to make sure it works before applying final torque.

Now go for a drive and see how it feels. You will notice the better feel immediately. You may want to come back and add another 1/4 to 1/2 turn to the adjuster to fine tune. As of now it isn't recommended to go past 1 1/2 turns. Pay attention for any signs of brake pads dragging and if such signs are present then go back and back the adjuster off some.

Thanks to FLEEMAN for bringing this easy, worthwhile and FREE mod to our attention.
