going out of the muscle car genre, I would get a 69 Vette Stingray in either LeMans Blue or Tuxedo Black. They just look awesome. I'm sure it's not the greatest handling car of it's time but i don't care. This is on looks and speed on a straight line only car for me.

i would either go with the plymouth roadrunner, can't remember the year: it had the wing on it with full graphics. Or a GTO.

LOL at what some people here consider as a "sports car"... :-D

So now for me: tough decision!!

F 40 for what the OP said.. And BTW: great thread idea!

Countach for being the first supercar anyone of my generation (I´m 34) dreamt of for years!!

288 GTO for being the most beautiful Ferrari of all times!!! (flamesuit on)

Mc Laren F1 for the performance!
It went from 280 - 320 km/h in 6th faster than a Ferrari Testarossa from 80 - 120 km/h in 5th!!!
And from 240 km/h on, it accelerated faster than a Formula 1 car!!
And also for the philosophy behind its engineering, ABSOLUTELY lightweight and a naturally aspirated engine with large displacement and still eager to rev!

And finally (being biased here) the Corvette C4 ZR-1, for not only out-accelerating, but even out-handling and -breaking cars like the Porsche 928 of its time!

Best, Bernd  ...and sorry for the many exclamation marks... :D
