How much is it worth today? 1967 I get about $5k then becoming $37,xxx. In 1967 it allegedly would have been an $11,500 car to be $85k today. In 1969, $5000 would be $34xxx today allegedly, with $12,250 to equal $85k. Also according to that site, $34000 in 2003 representing an 03 cobra would be $46,333 today. Here’s the problem, if we put 3% inflation, we end up with $51-$54k as an 18/19 my year from an 03 cobra. I did a calculation from 1968 to 2018 (50 times of 3% per year) and got that a $5000 gt500 then would be only $22,500 today. The dollar today is losing 70% if it’s purchasing power every 10 years, and declining faster and faster, it’s almost in free fall. So is the world economy, and this is why we have such undulating calamity the world over. The central planners and fed have oversold every economy on the books, but continue to tie every economy to their out dated algorithms, intentionally so. Today it’s an $85k gt500, tomorrow it’s a $2m rambler house. Soon enough it’s a $5k iphone.
