If I add an axle back exhaust, do I need to get my tune adjusted?

No but it can get loud.
Stock mufflers can support 1000rwhp :)

Thanks!

The adult in me is saying yes, the car sounds great and is loud enough.

The kid in me, wants it louder!

I think the problem is since I'm always driving it, I can't really "hear" what the exhaust sounds like to someone behind me, next me etc.

With what you're running, everyone that lives near you already hates you.
I try not to give Leo's an excuse to pull me over, excessive exhaust noise is an easy reason to get pulled over..

I wonder what replacing them would gain, though. On a car that has longtubes etc.

I have the 13-14 GT500 mufflers right now, I have Flowmaster axleback I want to put 3" Dynomax Ultraflos in once I find someone to weld or get the balls to try it myself. Gotta be worth something (but probably not much)

Good question I installed cutouts after the collectors to try on track and dyno but it gained basically 100rwhp going from a Gen 3 to a ported Gen 3R blower plus cutouts.
I’ll eventually do a before and after on dyno and track.

Good point!

Though unless I really get into the revs, which I don't do in my subdivision, it's actually pretty tame.

I'm not sure if I would gain anything.

I'm doing it more for a different and slightly "louder" sound.

Corsa Sport or Extreme. Also I've been checking out the Borla.
I think the Borla is a bit more tame than the Corsa Sport's. The shop I had install mine told me that if the Corsa's ever became too loud for my taste that they usually keep a set of the borla's on hand that they'd swap in.

I have Kooks 1 7/8 longtubes, catless H-Pipe, Corsa Sports and whenever I start the car up, it always makes people in the vicinity snap their necks lol. But on the flip side, just cruising around and if the RPM's are around 2500 and below, it's not THAT loud. Whenever I pull up to someone's house that knows my car, they'll usually say "ahh I didn't know you were in the Mustang, I didn't even hear you pull in the driveway"

Also if you go with the Corsa's, say goodbye to hearing your blower whine. At least that's the case with the stock eaton on the earlier GT500's.

Doug’s cutouts (not the cheap ones), will give you all the loud you want with the flip of a switch.

Great, thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I've heard the Extreme's are louder than the Sports.

Yea, this is a good video of the Borla Attak.

Seems a bit throatier and you can still hear the whine.

The ford racing borla axle back sounds nasty, especially with headers
the Borla Super Snake axle back isnt as loud, but sounds good with headers.

Did you put the 3R on there first, then have it ported? I have a VMP Gen 3 2650 now, not ported. Was curious if porting changed the sound of the blower because right now it’s damn quiet.

Always wanted to do this mod.
How long have you had them, any issues ?
Part #'s for the " non cheap ones " would really help,................thanks..

Here you go Don. I added these in 2015 or so. No issues whatsoever. They aren’t inexpensive, but they work!
The gate is a guillotine style, opens/closes fast. QTP brand cutouts use a butterfly baffle which is prone to sticking and everyone hates on them.
My exhaust is bone stock & didn’t want to go down the rabbit hole chasing the perfect sound. These solved that. Bone stock to wide open with a flick of the switch.
I mounted the switch under the dash in easy reach but out of sight.
You would love this mod!
