I might need a lawyer - AZ

Hey guys, my brother wrecked his car Thursday and he was at fault, so they gave him a reckless driving violation and failure to control speed which lead to an accident which is a civil ticket for $168.

Anyway, he was driving aprox. 65 on a 40. He doesn't have any previous tickets at all. I'm thinking assigning a lawyer, do you guys know any good lawyer that won't cost me a leg?

What do you expect a lawyer to achieve? If he's at fault, those fines seem pretty reasonable. If he's insured with no previous tickets his rates will go up for three years but not hugely so. If he gets sued by the other party, the insurance would get in the middle of that and he'd likely never even know.

It's just that I don't know how many points on the civil ticket, the reckless driving is 8 and if they gave him a speeding ticket it would be 3 points. I was hoping if a lawyer can do something about that because I'm not driving this guy around lol

Yes, you need a lawyer. The $168.00, ticket is the least of the problems.
