Thanks brother. Glad you’re still around my friend !

From a 1-10 how would you rate your hospital experience? Laughing at the follow up survey. Unenjoyable? Really still try to wrap my head around those. Great staff, still sucked? Literally, an unanswerable question to answer honestly

Damn man, could have been so much worse! I know it's hot as balls, but ALWAYS ride in a minimum of (from bottom to top) boots, jeans, shirt (jacket preferred but when it's 100 and **** out side I get it), gloves, and helmet. Heal up fast man!

What’s going on gentlemen, I originally had no intention of posting about my accident. However with all of the overwhelming support of you fine people on this forum I figured I’d come out and talk about it. So on Saturday July 29th I had myself my first motorcycle accident. It has been an up and down rollercoaster ride so far I must admit. Luckily I have the support of very good friends, and many of you on this forum. You guys have become my friends, and feels like a family. I can’t express the kindness you guys have shown me, and how much it means to me. So from the bottom of my heart thank you. Now onto the goodies of it all.

I made the call to have my Sonic Blue search thread come to an end due to the uncertainty of my recovery. I’ve been told mixed things from a few doctors. I’m going to do my best to get separate opinions instead of just listening to one. I was told 2-6 week, I just got told 4-8 months.

So currently a couple broken fingers, wrist is not good. My knee isn’t broken, but my knee cap is 45 degrees sideways. I’m awaiting more results and MRI’s to tell me whether I have a torn calf muscle, or torn MCL. I can’t move my ankle, and my calf is always hurting. I ended up riding the bike home.

We were doing the “iron butt challenge” similar to the Revzilla one. You ride from Sarasota, all the way down to key wests most southern point of Florida. Mile marker 0. So my brother and brother in law on their groms, and myself on a buddies Z125 Kawasaki. The bikes been down before, but nothing major was wrong as I was told. Bike hasn’t ran in a year. So we got it started. Tires, chain, etc all up to spec. As we began to ride I noticed that the bike had a slight pull to the left. I left my hands off the bars and it pulled left. So I said well I’ll be more cognizant of this issue. About 10 miles into the trip we get to a bit of a “bumpy” pothole type area. I’m going about 40 or so, this is about 6:30am so no light out yet. I ended up hitting a pothole and it jerked the handle bars to the left, by the time I tried to correct it the bike began to tank slap. It was out of my control, the handle bars are so small on those bikes, the smallest of movements feels like the biggest turn. Needless to say I went down hard and fast. Rolled a few times, and got myself some good rash, and such. Moral of the story is, pay better attention to the bike you’re riding, and if it doesn’t feel right, don’t trust it. I learned an expensive lesson. I’m still around to tell the story unlike many of my fallen friends. So I’ll take my wounds and keep pushing. I just hope the damage to my knee and wrist don’t keep me out of my cars for to long.
Hey man
Just jumping on here for a few before I hit the hay.
I got overheated the other day and been extremely exhausted.
Just read your post and wanted to wish you good luck and a speedy recovery.
I knew it was a bad crash from us talking the other night but I didn’t know it was that bad.
Anyway I wanted to send positive thoughts your way if I could.
I always try to remember pain is only temporary and tomorrow is another day.
Good job staying positive!
Talk to you soon

I don't get the cross over I guess radiology. But we were all doubling up a lot pre MDs in the Physics dept. Grad class was 8 out of 100+. Struggling with a friend trying to follow.

FWIW just usually Sharpie "ouch" and waste the free postage. Don't waste my time.

Welcome to the club!
The fact that you rode away and are here posting up is all I need to know that you'll be fine, the only question is how long recovery takes.
A commercial grade cold pack or two will be your best friend for the foreseeable future. When you get to the physical therapy phase, don't do anything to piss of the therapist...

Do you even remember how to drive fast cars? When’s the last time yours moved? Lol
No clue Jared. I'm actually pulling it out later to add some leak crap and charge the AC system.
Don't you have a heart condition?

No, the pneumonia I had last October that put me in the hospital for 3 weeks caused me to go in A-fib. That's been gone since I got out and my nuclear stress test was all clear.

That leak crap is a mess man - if it’s already basically empty personally id replace both schrader valves first before filling it, both of mine were leaking

Worked fine, as I have an injector. Topped off the AC and shit is still blowing warm. Drivers window won't go down, and tried the button slam trick that usually works. Too hot out there now to mess with that shit.

That’s for sure man! I’ve been icing my leg and calf the past few days. It’s been helping a bit I must admit. I’ll for sure be pissing off my physical therapist. I can only imagine it’s gonna be some old hag who wants to piss in my cheerios. I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated. Again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

No worries brother, family first man. Thank you for the kind wishes. As my father once said “tough times don’t last, tough people do”. Got to remain positive in times like this.

Glad you’re feeling better and it wasn’t any worse… kind of an extreme measure to keep from having to hang out with @Tezz500 though

I always wear a helmet, gloves, and jeans minimum. I’d be honest if I said I didn’t sometimes not wear a jacket. However summer gear tends to not be as thick, or even padding for the most part. The padding is still there, but the fabric itself is really think and breathable. I’ve always said, prepare for the slide not the ride.

Glad you're still with us!
As said before probe the Dr's wrong, read up as much as you can and use that education to be the best advocate for yourself.
My cousin tore a mussle ligament on the inside of his lower right leg into the knee region iirc just while skating playing hockey. He found a surgeon who's technique allowed the body to heal the damage more throughly, it was a time sensitive operation and he was allready having to fight just to get MRI. Long story short insurance didn't want to cover it so it's going to end up in court, but his leg is healing better and faster than the traditional routes.
