Have a buddy that told me theres a 30hp difference between the 99-02 and 03-04, is this true?

the 99-00 had a 80mm maf and a richer tune and made 360 hp
the 01-04 lightnings made 380hp with a bigger maf and different tuning
theres a few more differences in the years as well

Also 2002 up had the keypad on the drivers door. The bins behind the seats on 03/04 had the lids removed the door handles on the 03/04 inside was chrome all other years was black
the CD changer was moved from the passanger bin to the dash radio in the 2003/04's
99-00 has 3.55 gears and a 3.5 steel drive shaft
01-04 has 3.73 gears and a 4.5 aluminum drive shaft
cosmetic- different front grills, clear tail lights and turn signal markers on the outside mirrors
03-04 cargo weight was increased from 800lb to 1200lb, hence the higher rear stance on the 03-04

I don't believe the 03/04s had bins. At least mine doesn't :shrug: But that's pretty insignificant anyway.

it was an option for the truck that came with the indash 6 disk
My truck has the 6 disk indash. Was it a factory option or dealer option?

not sure what your asking,
but i gotta clarify what i said
on the 03-04 trucks with the 6 disk in dash it was an option along with the bed cover to have a storage box it wasnt standard anymore

whats the difference?
Factory option is installed on the assembly line and is tracked by Ford
Dealer Option the dealer installs and Ford doesn't know what trucks have it and don't have it.
The trailer hitch was a factory option.
