I don’t think he hit the car on purpose. He was carrying too much speed for his sight distance, and by time he laid on the brakes, it was too late.

You can hear his frustration at himself almost immediately after impact.
hard to say...I don't see or hear anything to indicate a hard brake.

I most definitely agree, guy had to be thinking man I hope I don’t loose my job over this.
