I have a nice Covercraft - Noah car cover that I have been using for the last couple years. The car is stored under an attached carport. Unfortunately, during the last snow storm I fired up the snow blower a little too close to the car. Now I have a 4" round soot stain on my car cover. Any idea how to get it off without making it look worse?

Also, how have you guys washed your cover? Or have you?
It's seems too big to fit in a washing machine at the laundromat. Before this cover, I've always used cheaper ones and just threw them out after a couple years.

No experience spot washing but I've washed the same cover in the largest washer the laundromat had years ago. Used woolite and an extra rinse cycle. Worked good at the time. Needs to be done again though. Years of dust from the garage are starting to build up on it.

Spot clean with Folex? I've had very good luck with it. I'm afraid if you try Simple Green, it'll leave a green spot. That happened when I used it on light colored carpet.

I've heard of others washing their car covers in commercial washers at laundromats, Paul. You just can't do it in a home washer because they aren't big enough.

That's a great suggestion, Scott. If it would fit into a home washer then I'd say just wash the whole cover for an "complete" clean. But definitely makes sense to try to spot clean before making the trip to a commercial laundromat. That's probably the last place I'd personally want to go to anyway. NO!

Same thing happened to mine a few years ago. I put some woolite on it and took it to the laundry mat in there biggest machine. Got it out.

You guys just throw it on the "delicate" setting at the laundromat?
Just let it air dry on the car? Or is it still soaked when you take out of there because it's so big.
