My car has an aluminum battery box in the trunk from the previous owner and they had slapped stickers all over it, I recently removed them all and it looks like crap now.. I'm wondering what would be a good way to clean it up and polish it and make it look nice again? Thank you for any info!!

WD-40 or Goo-Gone both work wonders for removing any kind of residue left behind by an adhesive agent. Edit: I also forgot to mention that Rubbing Alcohol (isopropyl) also works well for removing adhesive residue. Regardless, it is advisable to let your cleaning agent of choice soak into the adhesive residue before applying elbow grease.

As far as polishing aluminum, I am sure Brasso will work wonders. If not, here is a DIY solution for polishing aluminum: http://www.wikihow.com/Polish-Aluminum

^^^This, what helloWorld said for removing the stickers and adhesive. As for polishing, any metal polish will do you well.
