[QUOTE="Rara, post: 36895, member: 695"] well, jay, let me see if I'm hearing you right, you think it is a waste of time to mod a car unless it will run 12s for less than $2k? Ok, I'm exaggerating, but if you carry out your logic, it is pointless to mod almost any car, even a Mustang or Cobra. The entire point of modifying a car is to make it unique, to fit the owner better. If the main part of that (usually is) is to make more power, then great. If not, fine there too (though if someone's idea of this is to put tacky crap all over thier car, I reserve the right to insult them and thier car :D ) bottom line is, you shoulda kept the Cobra :D lol honestly, I think a S/C'ed contour will make 13's easy, provided it is running correctly, etc. Mark's car, as I'm sure you know, is hitting 295 at the wheels, with pretty much just the kit bolted on (his plugs were gapped too big on the 275 run and he was getting spark blowout above 6k) On 8/3 (next friday) some friend's will head out to Milan for a bit of a Contour SVT shootout, one S/C'ed car (Tim - nvmysvt) and one N2O car (Mark - Trapps) running the venom programmable nitrous setup (and you thought I was gonna say "Nahs" or NOS, lol) btw, that venom system is pretty trick, it'll do just about anything you want it too, and its easy to setup. Jay, I guess the bottom line for the rest of the thread, is just because the Contour is not a torque monster, doesn't mean it isn't worthwile, I mean c'mon, Mark's car had a roughly 75% increase in horsepower from a poor supercharger setup!!! (I do have engineering issues with Vortech's kit) and it is in dire need of an intercooler. and if you want to shine on the dragstrip, the Contour is the wrong car (so is the SHO for that matter) go buy a Pinto and put a 460 in it, maybe you will be happy then :D one more thing - Happy Birthday to me!
