How do you store your terminator for the winter?

Checking to see what measures others take when putting their cars up for the winter. Anyone put theirs on blocks, car covers? All I normally do is add fuel stabilizer and it sits in the garage. Anyone ever had a car cover damage their paint?

fill the tank with gas, add gas stabilizer, pump the tires up to 45 psi, disconnect the battery. I won't touch the car until March

My car is stored in a garage , so it is covered with a el-cheapo dust cover i bought from walmart.

I use gas stabilizer too. Cover it, and set the insurance to "inactive" so it reduces my cost. Never bothered disconnecting the battery or over inflating the tires. I'll have to charge the battery in the spring, but no big deal.

I've always heard that starting it every so often in the winter is bad because the engine never gets hot enough to burn out the condensation from the oil. Unless you take it for a drive. Idling it -- even for a long time -- doesn't get it as hot as a good drive.

I wash and wax it, change the oil, put it in the garage (I only have one of those "temporary "tent" kinds), put some moisture absorbers inside, cover it and then don't touch it till March.
Oh, and pump up the tire pressure.

I haven't had a Cobra during a winter

I'll be enjoying the 'more horsepower/less traction' that the cold weather gives

This is pretty much what i do. I MIGHT disconnect the battery and put baking soda in the cabin, but that is about it.

I don't do winter down here.:-D

Run most of the gas out of it, then put in the appropriate amount of Sta Bil or equivilent fuel stabalizer.

If you have a true trickle charger/ battery tender that would be good also.

It all depends on how long it will be down.

No question though, that the degredation of the fuel over time, is a very real concern. The most significant concern.

I would not bother starting it.
If you want to prime the oil pressure in the spring before starting, it's quite easy.
Floor the gas pedal while cranking, this shuts off the injectors completely, and crank till the oil pressure gauge shows pressure.

Then start like normal.

That's exactly what I do. I don't do any special prep. Just park it in the
garage and it's fine. It get pretty damned cold in Michigan too and
the car has been great since 2003.
