Hey guys I haven't seen anyone recently talking about this clutch, just wondering how there holding up?! I was going to purchase an RXT but it seem like a lot of people are having issues with them.... I don't want to be pulling the trans multiple times just to get the pivot ball length correct. Anyone still have this clutch?! If so what flywheel should I run?!

I pulled my trans once to set the pivot ball and its been good since.

Beyond that I have a buddy that has the 3+ with the light pedal option. He has a bum knee and has no issues with the clutch.

I run the 3+, I feel the clutch is pretty light. Takes a bit of getting used too. It's either on or off, doesn't slip. Holds the power very well. I run a stock flywheel, just have McLeod install a new friction surface, it is slightly cheaper than buying a new flywheel.

Great to hear! Any chattering? I just ordered it with the light pedal option

No, it’s an all around great clutch and holds the power well.

Same here with an aluminum Fidanzia (sp?) Flywheel. I like the replaceable steel insert on the flywheel. It is hard not to slip it at first, but you learn quickly it is on/off.

I run it with the light pedal option and a Spec billet flywheel. As stated, takes some getting used in first and reverse especially once you've got some heat in it. If I'm totally honest, I've almost killed it a few times because I wasn't paying enough attention and didn't feed it adequate revs. Once you're moving, no problem. Holds everything I throw at it.

I have the 3+ and I agree with a lot of the replies you've received here. I've only had the car 6 months and this is my first Spec clutch but I've driven a lot of manual cars and I am happy with the product. Overall it has a good feel to it and isn't difficult to drive.

Had a Spec 3+ that worked great until I installed the VMP TVS. 605RWHP and it welded itself to the flywheel on a street datalog run.

I now run a McLeod Street Extreme because I didn’t want to have the known RXT chatter or pivot ball height adjustment issues.

I was initially disappointed with pedal feel until I changed out my clutch cable to an OEM unit. It’s now amazing! Stock pedal effort and great street manners.

Here is a picture of the Spec3+ carnage. It’s nice that McLeod will rebuild the OEM flywheel.

Damn, that's intense. What flywheel were you running when your spec 3+ died on you. Im also running a VMP TVS but only making 530rwhp.... I don't really plan on switching to E85 or anything.

That was the OEM flywheel. I’m now running a McLeod lightened steel flywheel and have my OEM sitting on the shelf freshly rebuilt by McLeod. I like the street manners of the lightened steel flywheel as well.

What RXT chatter is there? I think I had a little bit when it was being broken in, but it's smooth now. I've taught my son and my daughter to drive stick with it.

I'm making 785 hp 704 tq and my 3+ holds it just fine. Have around 2k miles on it. I bet his cable wasn't adjusted right.

Spec has been in my car for several thousand miles at 600hp.
Zero issues track or street. It is however quite stiff in my car.

Well I just finished up installing my spec 3+ clutch and of course something with the input shaft install when wrong. Loud whining sounds and sounds like rocks being shaken. Pulled the trans again and my transmission guy is looking into it. In the meantime when I test drove the car the clutch engaged at the very top. Is this normal for this clutch? If I want to bring it down do I need to tighten the firewall adjuster? Thank you guys for the help.

Loose cable = lower floor engagement. .15” of gap is about perfect.
