As title states: How do you build a QUIET 8.8 rear ? My gears are 3.55 and I plan on keeping that ratio, but don't like the whine, so will happily swap out the gear set and whatever else necessary. I had lots of GM cars and never had a whiny rear. What's the secret to building a quiet, non-whining 8.8 rear end?
I've got Roush UCA (poly), Steeda LCA (poly) and one-piece alum driveshaft, so I know these all contribute to noise factor. But I'd still spend considerable time and money to get rid of the whine, if someone can point me to the setup. I have lift, tools and press and have done some GM's in the past, so am familiar with process.
Now I'll quit whining.................
Thanks!
