While Chase is out on the road, I'm going to be posting up what he runs into along the way! He's got our 2010 Camaro out for the drive will be sending me pictures and information to post up.

"Thursday night around midnight I was finishing the task of packing my bags for the Power Tour. For me the thought of being a Long Hauler was really bittersweet. As a child I remember flipping through the pages of Hot Rod magazine and dreaming about driving across the country with one of the cars that adorned the pages.

Since that time however, I got a case of the wife and three kids… Even though my wife probably enjoys some time away from me, just the thought of not seeing her pretty face and my three little princesses for an entire week really tugged at my heart strings. That being said, I zipped up my luggage and decided that a healthy dose of horsepower and good regimen of open road would help me get by

Friday morning luckily came and went fairly quickly and right before noon I was clear for take-off. I hopped into the company Camaro and headed north. By the way did I mention that this is part of my Job!"

Day 1: Leaving the shop!

"Heading through central Indiana I stopped for a quick pit stop just outside of Martinsville. Looking across the parking lot I saw a sign saying The Knuckle Sandwich. With my curiosity peaked and my stomach growling I decided to check it out.

Some friendly service and flat top grilled patty melt later I was back on the road. On a side not, for anyone traveling on 37 through Indiana, the overall diner experience was excellent. Getting back to business, I continued north towards Wisconsin."

"A few hours later and a couple hundred more miles down it was time for another food and fuel stop. The City of Oglesby was the next sign I saw and I left the interstate. Ahead a few classic cars were turning in to a parking lot and I figured that must be the spot. As luck would have it, there was a root beer stand having a cruise in. With the clock running and daylight disappearing I only spent a few minutes taking in the automotive scenery and decided to mark The Root Beer Stand as a future Friday night stop."

"Further down the road and with the trip odometer hitting 486 miles the light had already left the sky as pulled into the hotel parking lot at Madison, WI. Today is the official start at the Alliant Energy Center here is Madison. If anyone is out and about, stop by the Ridetech booth to say hello!"

"Yesterday the weather in Madison was about as good as it could get, being in the mid 80's and a had a constant breeze. This morning not so much... So far all I see is rain, but hopefully that will clear up on the way to Champaign, IL. I did hear someone say that are over 4200 cars signed up for the Long Haul. That is a pretty amazing number and I can't wait to be a part of the muscle car migration today."

"From Madison to Champaign it rained fairly steadily. About 5 miles outside of Parkland College the rain stopped and the weather remained warm and windy with no rain. I didn't here the number of attendees but the venue appeared packed. I ran across several of my customers that are on the long haul. I also met a few Corvette Forum members in person.
The word came out that bad weather was on the way and luckily we were packed and on the road quickly. I entered the hotel with a sunny sky and 15 minutes later looked out my window to see the down pour. We are currently under a Tornado warning..."

"A Ridetech equipped barn find 1960 Impala with 30-year-old paint.... Very cool!"

"Stop 3

From Champaign, IL to Madison, IL (St. Louis) was a wet one... Just as we rolled into town, the sun showed up and took care of business.

I met a couple more forum members today which was awesome , and as far as that goes, anyone that stops by the booth to say hello will get a Ridetech mystery gift!

I met allot of new people today. Its really amazes me on how many people from all over the US and farther get together to share their appreciation for hot rodding. I talked to people from Oregon and Washington and California that all drove here to be on the tour.

So far it has been a great trip and I am excited for the rest of the week. What a great Country we live in that we are able to do things like this!"

Camaro looks good. Are those CCW SP16A's on it? I had the same wheels on my F-body years ago. Loved them.

Looks like a fun time! The Power Tour is on my bucket list, but they heavily favor the east coast. I'd be looking at a minimum cost at around $1500.00 just in fuel to make the trek from Colorado.

It would be nice if just once the tour favored the midwest or west coast. I'm not holding my breath though.

Go on Drag Week! They seem to favor central/Midwest for that! Lots of cool cars going FAST!

Power Tour is cool....but it is BIG now! Getting in and out of venues is kind of a drag... Still worth doing though!

I'd still like to do the Power Tour, myself. However, Drag Week would be awesome too! Last year, I was leaving LS Fest when all of the Drag Week cars were rolling it... I was drooling...
