Just save yourself the hassle and rip off the hood blanket entirely (takes 30 seconds - you just carefully pop off each black plastic clip), then velcro each of the two hood vent flaps back against the hood. I've had zero problems with this and it provides max cooling for 30 seconds and the price of four inches of velcro.

Go beyond changing brake pads and oil and you've reached the limits of my mechanical inclinations. However, the blanket mod is well within my bounderies.

Just print out everything he's said to do........and do it.
Once you've done it, you'll be glad you did.......

Nah. Just be a little careful and it's easy. Besides, if you somehow DO manage to jack it up, you simply throw the blanket away ;-)
Worst case scenario you douse it with water and claim warranty, hehe.
