Should I be concerned about replacing the heater core in my 1990 Fox? Just a little worried about breaking the plastic because of its age. Is this a potential problem?

I wouldn’t be concerned about breaking the plastic. Just make sure you have a good step by step guide. Plan Atleast a full weekend of it. It can be daunting if you’ve never done one before.
Be systematic and map out every screw's placement. It's a pain in the ass to do solo but, it can be done with the right approach. You need the whole dash out on 87-93 cars.
Just did one last week. Its a pain. but "doable". I used this video as a guide. LMR has one too, where they dont crack the AC lines. Mine AC was empty so a non factor. Plastic breaking is a non factor if your careful. I did not take the seats out.
