Has Eaton ever changed the inlet design? Or is this port work?

So I purchased a ported blower, but, when comparing the inlet (low pressure) side, there is a point that I haven't seen before. Just wondering if any1 else has this on theirs?

It works, but the numbers it produces are not earth shattering. It's for those that want everything they can possible get from an Eaton.
