Has anyone put on a 3 inch cowl hood on a terminator?

I have the HO Fibertrends 2.5" cowl hood, had to use it to clear my forward-facing Sullivan/HPP intake setup. Visibility is not much different than stock.

How much horsepower are you putting out?
Is it any better or worse at dissipating the engine heat,?

I haven't put many street miles on the car yet, it's down for a few fixes before I take it back for a retune. Current configuration is putting down 744 on 15 psi. I put the hood on back when it was twin turbo and drove it around a bit before garaging the car for the new build. I have no scientific data points but when stopped you could see the heat billowing out the vents in back.

Yes it is a Cervinis 3” - 95 Cobra R hood. I really need to get some good pictures of the car but I have not had time. Here is a few phone pics outside the shop. The last photo is a screen shot from a video driving since I can't upload .MOV files:

I like the look! and it doesn't interfere with the view out the window. Is that a 3 inch cowl and is the back open where it meets the window cowl? And can you get a pic of that view ?

Cowl hoods don't typically vent engine heat! They pull air in at the back of the cowl because there is high pressure point of air at the base of the windshield that basically pushes air into the vents and into the engine compartment.
If anything they will help push engine heat out the bottom of the engine bay!

That's why the vents in the factory hood are inset the way they are! The air rushing over the inset part of the vent creates a low pressure point at the vent that helps pull out the high pressure air in the engine compartment coming through the radiator and heat exchanger.

@GodStang Are the vents open at the cowl? I saw a video the other day with the same hood and the vents didn't go all the way through.

Depends sometimes on the manufacturer!
I've had 4 different cowl hoods over my 28 years of owning Mustangs and only 1 had the vents precut when it arrived, and it had a mesh screen already installed. The other 3 had the vents pre-scribed when it arrived and you had the choice to cut them out or leave them closed off!
IIRC the one precut was a Cervini's but that was back in the 90's on a foxbody GT I had.
Josh would have to chime in regarding his particular hood!

I would prefer them closed up rather then open. I'd call cervini's but their customer service is just about worthless.

Very nice! Is that a 3 inch or a 4 inch cowl?
And what is it made of and how much work was it to install?

I think 4" but i'll double check tonight. Fiberglass. This was on the car when i bought it already. It has a small cut on the back of the hood for the mammoth inlet i'll snag a picture of that too.
