A friend of mine asked me for an opinion of an engine he found for sale on facebook. $6k for a resleeved Teksid with all the goodies. I told him he sent me those pics before. He swore it was a different engine. The place it was posted had a decent site too. I looked through my text messages and sent him all the pics he sent me the beginning of Feb when the original person had it listed for $7500. I should also add that when the motor was posted originally it was local to us in California. The new place was supposedly based out of New York.

It’s good that you’re reaching out to ask. I haven’t use PayPal in years as I had a fight with them years ago and just out of principle said FU – I don’t need you. My principles have kind of gotten in the way of doing some business at times but I’ve bought more than a couple of things on here and I’ve just sent people personal checks and after they clear they have sent me the items I purchased and I’ve never had a problem, but all of my purchases have been in the 100’s, not thousands. Probably not the best way to do things but I’ve been fortunate. Felt like most of the people here are decent but there’s always going to be a few bad apples, unfortunately.

It actually sounds WAY overpriced to ship a scam that didn't exist in the first place...
A guy in here recommended buying body parts from [email protected] so I reached out to him, made a deal of 650 for a good condition stock hood, and new wrapped up rear bumper (no one has these anywhere I’ve checked multiple dealerships) we agreed to 650$ for it after he was asking 900. And shipping from Tucson to Vegas was only 82.77. Something didn’t seem right, he was very pushy not wanting to do PayPal because he doesn’t have one, then wanted me to pay through his wife’s PayPal. I offered to drive to him, or have family meet him and grab it and do a cash transaction. He said he was a truck driver and is rarely home, I told him lmk when you’re home I have retired family by you that can swing by and grab it anytime you’re ready. He then said he wouldn’t be home the rest of the month and I told him that’s ok, I can wait. Never heard anything after that. I feel like it’s a scam. Thoughts?

no I’m new to this forum recently, and have bought some parts from 2 other members here no issues, but this is the first one and was like shit… I need the hood and bumper… but need to be sure it’s not a scam. Clearly is though lol
