ok i have a question what is the most appropriate name for the metal plate that is between the engine block and transmission on a manual trans car iv been told its called a flex plate but when I searched that it was nothing close to what I need the reason I ask is because mine is bent and is rubbing against the flywheel and is the most wreching sound ever and I need to buy a new one of these items any input would be awesome

On a manual car there is only the Flywheel.

Then the clutch disc and then pressure plate bolts to the flywheel.

Flex plate is on a auto and is what the TQ converter bolts to.

It sounds like you're talking about the block plate. It goes between the flywheel and block.
