Quick ez one, out of curiosity which bolts are you guys using with an engine support bar to attach the chains to? Is it #13 & 14 OR 12 & 15?

Are you using the SAME bolts or are you using a different bolt? Never used one of these and just looking for some tips.

I used spot 13 & 14 based on your diagram. I slid the chain along the stud on both spots, then I also used a nut on both studs to secure it down tightly. It worked great & allowed me to remove the entire engine & trans together from the bottom, amongst many other things.

Here are some pics.

When you guys use these and are jacking up the motor are you using a big piece of wood on the oil pan?

Just use the support bar cranks to raise or lower the engine

But if you do need to lift via the pan, use a block of wood

Yeah I'll let you know. I was just watching a video of a guy jack the motor up from the oil pan with a block of wood while using the engine support bar to keep it in place as insurance and also take the load off the jack.

You’ll want the jack out of there for sure.

I don’t think I missed a jack at all. Just hooked the bar up, out a little tension on the chains and started zapping bolts out.

Gonna need the jack for the k member anyways.

Ok sweet, the video I watched the guy was installing headers so that's probably why he wanted the motor a little higher. Did you guys just use the bolts ALREADY in the timing cover or did you switch them out JUST for the install?
