I have the Makita 18V vac and it works great for light cleaning. However, the women has pretty much taken it over and uses it for quick touch ups around the house. Works great for that.

When I need to deep clean I have a Rigid shop vac that works great. Has tons of power. Also use that with a bucket filter for woodworking. Does a great job keep dust down on my router table, table saw and miter saw.

Do yourself a favor and get a ridgid vac from HD instead of a shop vac. My ridgid kicks some serious butt! Dad threw away his shop vac and switched to ridgids as well.

I didn't necessarily mean the brand Shop-Vac. I just meant a full-size vacuum instead of a hand held.
