Yep, basically any centerfire semi-auto with a removeable magazine.
That's the thing, the Garand has a fixed magazine that uses actual clips. I hate being pedantic but being in NY you learn that every single word is of extreme importance. So no removable magazine yet they are still banning them. ****, that ****ing sucks.

You made me jelly. Picked this up today.

Probably because the M1 Garand holds 8 rounds, our limit is 5 for semi-auto. The exact wording of the clause they're trying to add to the bill is:

"a firearm that is a rifle or shotgun, that is capable of discharging centre-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner and that is designed to accept a detachable cartridge magazine with a capacity greater than five cartridges of the type for which the firearm was originally designed.”

So semi-autos shotguns with a tube mag or a rifle with an internal mag up to 5 rounds should still be legal. And the way I read it, a detachable mag rifle would only pass if it has some sort of proprietary 5 round mag. Anything that takes a standard AR15, SR25 or AICS , etc mag will be banned. And to top it all off, I'm hearing that many of the shotguns and rifles that would actually pass all this bullshit are being banned by name, hundreds of them! It's bad no matter how you slice it. Every semi-auto I have is on the list.

The
Range toy/safe queen. I have not shot it. I hope to this weekend.
You already have some nice mods on it, jelly. I'm thinking if I put money into it I'll have half or more into that $1750 build I showed you. Might be better just to do that when ready to drop the coin. Just aint gonna happen right now.

Question for you guys. I know it is not worth a damn thing but, I have a Montgomery Wards 20ga bolt action. It was my father’s first gun. Everything is original. Stock is a bit beat up but not terrible. The barrel is good, the only mechanical issue is the safety is suspect. I don’t want to replace the stock since it is original.

Outside of fixing the safety, what would you guys recommend to preserve it. I think there are some surface rust spots. I was lucky that this wasn’t something else my sister sold/traded for drugs so surface rust is tolerable since I was able to get it back.

The worst thing i've done was restore my dad's model 12. I had brand new furniture and had it slow rust blued. For me, it lost the worn looks and history when i looked at it.

You can hit it with some gun oil and some green or red sos pads (actual sand paper is too rough) to take the surface rust off and keep it lightly oiled every so often.

experience will depend on FFL. Choose wisely…. Mom and Pops shops are often better than corporate spots…

It's not a big deal. All depends on who you go through. I'd prefer to go through a guy/gal that's working out of their house.

Not a problem as others have said.

I called ffl to let them know it was coming, they called me when it got there. Flat fee to transfer and off I went
