Wow... that is one heck of a score!

Hard to imagine the numbers match. The furniture looks brand new. I wonder if it was a parade piece.

Yes especially finding one up here with a matching magazine as they're all all pulled for pinning to reduce capacity, and often not going back onto the extra rifle they came from. If they had even survived matching after any refurb that may have been done in China. 1970 was a time frame when China was drastically reducing production of the SKS and moving to the AK platform. The large arsenal /26\ facility in particular was moving away from the SKS and what production was still in the works moved to smaller arsenals, like 316 where this one is from. So one supposition is a lot of those rifles simply went straight into storage until being sold decades later to various vendors world wide. Possibly one of those :) .

Looks great. can I ask what these are going for these days?

This one cost me ~US$220, higher end of pricing up here - again because of the condition this one is in.

Liking that a lot.

No AK's for us so we make do lol. All jokes aside, I've got a couple SKS' now and they're great little rifles. Looking to add a Yugo next when I find the right one.

P.S. detail stripped and cleaned today, and back together with it's younger Chinese safe mate, a type 81.

Picked up a few new handguns in the last couple of months. SW22 Victory, MKIV Tac Lite, and a Dan Wesson Vigil Commander in 9mm. The Beretta is not new. It's an M9A3 frankengun that I want to convert to a thumb safety. I was trying out my newly acquired 92D slide. Worked great. Also my new .22 supressor came in! That's why I have the 2 new .22's with threaded barrels.
