So yesterday, I drove the car 2+ hours each way to the best track around, US41 Motorplex. Met up with some good friends and we threw down.

I ran an 8.94 @ 153 mph! To say I'm excited is an understatement. My ultimate 1/4 mile goal was to get in the 8's. #done! Now to focus on 1/8th mile.

Here are the basics:
JLT Super Big Air 148mm
Whipple 170mm big bore mono
VMP Gen 3 TVS (ported lower by Bret Barber)
6 rib, 69mm upper, Hasty Bracket, stock lower
Aluminator Gen 1 (stock heads/cams)
BBK 1-3/4" longtubes
Dynomax Race Bullets and turndowns
Stock, untouched converter
Ignite Red

Impressive. I remember back in the day, a 10 second street car would be a cover car in MM&FF. They were few and far between. Things have progressed so quickly.

Well done my man. 8 second street car is outright nasty!

I agree. I was there too. My old 10 second, all motor fox car was in the running, but wasn't chosen for a cover. Still got a feature out of it. My current car was in Mm&ff a couple months ago.

I never thought it would or could go this far without ruining it. Parts, knowledge and tuning have progressed. This is my 6th year with the car. I'm a patient guy. Here is my et progression. Note that I was on the same pulley size in 2015, 2016 & 2017, just adding other things.

2013 - 10.53
2014 - 10.31
2015 - 9.92
2016 - 9.66
2017 - 9.29
2018 - 8.94

Putting together the parts now to swap out my magnum and go 6R80 next year. Doing the swap over the winter. And using the US shift quick 6 to control it. It does allow for a push button -+ to up or down shift.

But talking to people I have found out that using the -+ isn't any faster then just putting it in drive.

Trans brake? and what rpm are you leaving at? on the stock converter.

Edit: Goofy questions but I have a different platform. And I don't know squat with whats stock on a 2012 5.0.

Thanks again.

No problem. I'm on the app, so I don't get to see signatures.

I foot brake a little above idle at around 1200 and just floor it. No trans brake. They do nothing with a stock converter.

Badass. Makes me wish I had an auto. I live half an hour from 41. It’s where I blew up my oil pump gears lol.

Congrats on the 8 man, that’s badass.
