I am sorry so see that happen to your cobra.

****ing deer have got to be some of the dumbest animals ever. I blaster one in my commuter years ago and it damn near totaled the car.

Hopefully it all works out and you get it fixed.

If that was my SB I’d be sick about it too.
But. All I can see is fender/door/glass replacement. It just doesn’t look like a hard enough whack to interrupt inner structure or frame from what I see.
Hopefully I’m right.
The challenge, if I’m correct will be the painters talent on getting the paint to match. A very talented painter with primo prep skills will make the replaced panels TOO smooth due to OEM slight orange peel.
In other words, a really talented painter will have to dumb down his work as to not make the new panel/paint not outshine out smooth the OEM panels surrounding it.
Don’t give up hope. It’s still a nice ride! I hope the best outcome for you. Hopefully it’s not totaled & I don’t think it is. Just do some serious homework on who does the repairs.
I’d be one-on-one and very vocal with the actual person doing the repairs & relay what you expect.
If a guy just sat back & let them have at it, yeah no.
If the first shop doesn’t feel right, find one that “gets it”.

One thing OP is right about though is the deer runs into you.

I had one years ago hop right out in front of me.

Nothing you can do but hit it.

Don't put it on yourself.

Sometimes these things happen and we just have to move forward from it.

My cousin in the span of just one month had deer run into his passenger side of 2 of his cars in nearly the same place on the same road and at 55-60 mph. Neither car was totaled (3000GT VR4, & GS400.)
Keep fighting for a fix. Insurance is a pain in the ass, so you might have to be a bigger pain to them.
I really wish they'd let people really hunt the things. Chronic wasting disease is going to kill all of them if the herds are not culled by drastic amounts. CWD is a prion just like mad cow. Deer hunters have to have their meat tested before they can safely injest anything they process. Otherwise in a few decades those prions go for your brain.

Idk about everyone else but USAA insured my 04 cobra convertible with 42k miles on it for $33,000. Make sure everyone calls and checks and makes sure their insurance covers everything. If not I know USAA does at the top end value of the vehicle. 140$ month

I have USAA also, so you have a guaranteed value in your policy?

This gives me the heeby jeebies! I hardly drive mine and this type of thing is still in the back of my mind. Best of luck to you, sir. Glad you're okay.

If they somehow total it, buy it back. Slowly get it repaired on your own. Or if you're not attached to it, sell it as is for someone else to fix and enjoy. Last option is to part it out. The wheels alone (chrome AFS reps from the looks of them) will net you a pretty easy $750-1k. Add in the Cobra-specific parts and I think you'd stand to make up your buyback price pretty easily.

Appreciate all the feedback. USAA is going to try to move forward with repairing it. USAA did a virtual appraisal and estimated $2500, but I’m thinking closer to double that once the shop gives their estimate.

Good shit. You'll be back on the road in no time. Might have to get some deer whistles for the future lol

I have had USAA for 20 plus years .
Wife can not drive worth shit , so I have had a couple of claims .
Always very close to actual cost for repairs , and supplements are not a big deal.
Looks like about 2500 to me as well .
