Had a new personal best Wednesday night with my 2014 GT500. Went up for test and tune, with no track prep. Car wouldn't hook for anything. Even tried leaving the TC and LC on, and it still spun. This was on a 18" M&H drag radial, which I personally feel hooks worse than the previous Nitto NT05Rs I used at the track when the car was stock. Then I got to drive it home in the pouring down rain, which was an experience I'd be okay never reliving. They got on top of the water in no time.

Mods:
JLT Ram air intake
Ford Racing 65mm TB
John Lund Tune

Hoping to order some Weld RTS in 17x10 and some bias ply MT ET Streets and try one more time in November.

nice mph for those little mods.

60 foot is your issue from a 10 second slip.

Try running with traction control totally off and don't use launch control. I was getting 1.6-1.7's on 20 inch mickey thompsons with it all off and 1.8-1.9s using LC and sport mode. Also really heating up those tires to get them to work properly.

I went 1.8 on my 20s with everything turned off. Just couldnt do it on these tires. I didnt heat them up much though. Just cleaned them off. They're not my tires and I didnt want to kill them.

Run the NT05R's at 15lbs and you will cut good 60 foots.

10s with your mods is challenging, put a pulley on the car and youre there.

I will pulley it eventually, but I think I can get there now on a real tire. My brother biminiLX, went 11.03 with no mods to the motor, so I am making more power than he was, I just need to put it down. We were both born with the driver mod lol.

Ah.. he's your brother? I did not know that. I'd agree that he's gay, but then both y'all would be pissed at me.
btw.. thanks for helping me out with the wheels!

Brother from another mother, and he wishes I was gay :)

Gear and you'd have that 10 buddy.
Or let me drive it
I still can't believe you drove in the rain on those---mans that'll pucker your ass.

You're a very good driver, and it's strange we both could drive the NT05Rs harder.
I'm totally with you on the bias ply, still want to try and get a custom Bogart 16x10 and those Hoosier QTPs.
That 17" idea might work well.

And guys this was at Milan, much worse track prep compared to Norwalk or some of the east coast tracks, but all we got left this season.
I'm on vacation with the family, O2s waiting at home so hopefully we make it to the track one more time together and I can borrow ny brothers Go Pro.

Ghoust, that's called the 'driver mod' as well as DA (density altitude) both seriously effecting the same cars track performance.
Meaning you have to drive the car 'like you stole', play with shift points and just get track experience.
If really concerned, datalog on the track for real power data, but if that's fine, just need to use it better.
