In the Bay Area most of the jobs that are in the labor trade are Union jobs. These types of jobs required them to go to school for 6-12 months to learn the trade. Even after that they still having schooling to learn new things in the trades. Because of the Union they get great pay and benefits. When non union trade workers come to work in the Bay Area they have to be bumped up to prevailing wages.
