I know this has been re-hashed several times, but i would like to know how gear changes have changed 60ft times and mpg's.This car is driven alot by my wife,so i don't want it to be crappy to drive daily and gas mileage to reallly suffer. We are trapping 1.90 60's stock, with a best of 1.89.I have some 3.55's on the shelf, but i wonder if 3.73's would be better?

Thanks in advance.

I have 3.73 but i also have 3600 stall converter. But i get great gas milage with them. i drive 100 miles each way to the track running 80 almost whole way and gettin 23 MPG. I now couple people with bigger gaers and bigger converters and the are only cutting .02 better 60 than me. ihave cut at least 12 passes with 1.60 60'.

I just had 3.73s installed in my 2011 GT auto last week. Made a 600 mile road trip with them yesterday, and I ended up averaging 20.9 mpg. That was 80-85 mph most of the way. RPMs were definitely higher than stock, but IMHO not annoying (though they were on the very edge of being annoying... I think 4.10s would have pushed it over the edge for highway driving).

I'm riding on 275/35/20 tires out back and 255s up front.
