Selling my used “crank saver” stud/nut/washer combo for all model year Shelby GT500s. Designed by Kinetik Motorsport and made by ARP from their '2000' material, this is the absolute best solution for achieving a strong, stable, and safe clamp on your crank pulley. A must-have for anyone running oversized/overdrive balancers, larger than stock superchargers, or using a 2-step launch control.

ZERO modifications required to vehicle or engine. Installation can be done in your driveway, and will take roughly an hour to complete.

This unit only has 21 quarter mile passes on it. Ended up doing a motor build and went billet crank as part of the build, so the crank saver no longer fit.

Asking $80 shipped.

So looking at the photo, does it turn the crank bolt into a crank stud with nut and a backup allen bolt to keep it in place?

Its an ARP 2000 stud custom designed to completely fill in and reinforce the void inside the crank snout. Ford, for whatever reason, machined an undercut fillet in the front crank snout of every GT500 crank. The cavity for the factory crank bolt extends past the under cut fillet. Factory crank bolt does NOT extend much past the fillet. The factory and ARP made "upgraded" bolt also torque into the front of the snout causing an already non-reinforced section of crank to be torsionally stressed INSIDE the snout.

Add bigger blowers an/or a 2 step, and this thing gets much more prone to being snappy.

This stud not only completely fills and reinforces the crank snout, but it also completely eliminates the torsional torquing stress of the crank bolt inside the snout. For $80, @JB_2010GT500 is making a very solid insurance policy available for a modest sum.

Here's a pic from the manufacturer, showing exactly why this kit is worth every penny!
