F27F549C-0C29-4A75-AB60-49D3F487D393.jpeg It’s been a long time since I read or posted. My 06 GT needed some love at 94k mikes.
The car is used for track days and in the warm months I chose it to drive to work.
Started over heating in 3,4,5th (2800rpm with a load) and no matter what we did to the tune or cooling system, it would not stay cool. Could cool it with increased rpm.
So new motor excuse! I went through all the options from crate to build. In the end we decided on this.

    Motor
    FFRP 5.3 short block
    MMP Stage3 3V heads
MMP Comp Cam road race grind
    FFRP intake and throttle body
    Steeda underdrive pullies
    Mishimoto Radiator
    Canton road race oil pan
    Long Tube headers
    High flow cats
    FFRP X Pipe
    FFRP Exhaust

Lots of suspension goodies cobbled together over the years
    FFRP shocks, struts, swaybars
    Eibach Sport Springs
Steeda rear control arms, 3rd link
    Steeda adjustable panhard bar
Home turned rear control arm Delrin bushings
BMR rear control arm relocation brackets
Home grown cable limiters with 2” travel to keep the rear from traveling too far

    Brakes
ST43 pad compound (not a great street compound, basically steel plates)
Baer 14” front and rear rotors
    Boss Brembo front calipers
Home made rear caliper relocation brackets
GT500 brake cooling backing plates and ducts

The results are a fun car to drive with a great torque curve that really wakes up at 4500prm. Sort of feels like my 00R at 5k rpm.
First track day identified things like the need to remove the rear bump stops.

Very fun to drive and happy with where we are today.
    Freakin loud!
    387rwhp 367ftlb torque

Nice. My wife drives a high mileage '05 and I was wondering what options I had besides buying a newer model. Just so I understand, is this a complete crate engine or one you pieced together.
    She also runs GT500 wheels.

This is a Ford 5.3L Cast Iron short block and MMR Stage 3 heads. I miss stated MMP above.

I was looking into that block as well. You got some nice power out of that combo.
