It's something I've been wondering about for a long time. It's not something I will be doing soon seeing as how I'm still living overseas, but I just like to do my homework first..
Has anyone done this swap before? I'm just really curious as to what the difference would be in spool time between journal bearing 57's and ball bearing GT35R's. The new setup I have ready to go in will utilize the 5.0 Big Bore block, 8.5:1 CR, ported heads and custom cams so would it be possible that with these upgrades the spool time would be close to the same? I really want to hit 1000rwhp (why not right??) but I guess I still wonder if it's really worth losing the quick spool time of the 57's...
