Does anybody know what this will run me if i do all the labor myself?

Junk yard GT40 Heads
Junk yard 5.8 Block (compresion test, but lets assume it is good compresion)
Junk yard GT40 intake
F303 Cam
New Clutch
Rebuild the T-5 with stronger internals
MAF Conversion


Any ball park figures?

get a set of 185 AFRs heads, a comp cam, a vic jr manifold, 700cfm holly carb your not going to be happy with gt40 heads and a ford cam an EFI. An just use a stock t5 there good up to around 400lb/tq with a good clutch. Your set up wont be more then 250lb/tq

but if you dont want to learn from my mistakes an others....your set up should be right around $800 for the cam and engine and $1500 for t5 rebuild and $300 for new MAF an CAI.

Get good parts. WIth the parts you listed your not looking at more than 275hp IMO. Do some cheap but decent heads(AFR165's/185's, TFS 170's or something), cam, intake youll make closer to 350-375hp.

i would find a nice set of used aluminum heads..you won't find a real gt40 intake at any wrecking yard...so there again you could find a nice used intake.. the t-5 rebuild 500 or so or again find a nice use WC t-5 which has the 2.95 first gear or a tremec..
