Fox Body

Dumb question, but one that is naggin me. Why is the (89-93?) body style dubbed Fox?

I believe "Fox" is an internal Ford designation (like SN95 for the '94-up) and that it began in 1979.

I could be wrong...:-D

Yep and the essential chassis will remain until 2003 when ford moves to the DEW chassis.
